Former President announced on Friday that he is withdrawing his endorsement for Republican lawmaker MTG, a longtime supporter of the president and the Make America Great Again cause.

This action came mere hours after the congresswoman commented in an conversation that she believed Trump's efforts to prevent the disclosure of files related to notorious moneyman Epstein were "extremely the bad direction to go."

"I'm withdrawing my support and support of 'Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, of the wonderful state of Georgia," Trump wrote on his preferred platform. "All I see 'Wacky' Marjorie do is GRIPE, GRIPE, GRIPE!"

He added that he would offer his "steadfast support" to a primary opponent opposing her "should the right individual campaigns." She currently represents her Georgia district.

Growing Political Disagreements

Earlier on Friday, Marjorie Taylor Greene had told reporters that Trump should not be working to block the publication of the Epstein records when soaring prices in the United States are creating challenges for even the president's own followers to manage their finances.

"It is extremely the wrong path to go. The urgent crisis is health care and cost of living for US citizens. And that's where the priority should be," Greene stated.

She further stated, "Releasing the Epstein records is the most straightforward thing in the whole world. Simply publish it everything. Permit the Americans review every part of it, and, you know, support the affected individuals. That's just like the most logical, most straightforward thing in the world. But to devote any energy working to stop it creates – it just isn't logical to me."

Recent Tensions

The congresswoman has used the past few months stating opinions that are at odds with those of the White House and some of her Republican colleagues. Recently, the former president pushed back against criticism from Greene, stating she had "lost her way" after she claimed him of paying excessive focus to international issues and insufficient to the soaring cost of living in the US.

Greene replied to Trump's remarks on the social media platform a next day, stating that "the singular route is through Christ."

"That is my journey, and I've absolutely not lost it. In fact I'm striving to put my faith into action," she wrote.

Policy Disagreements

Tensions have intensified since the former president's return to office, as the representative has increasingly split with the Republican party on internal and foreign policy. She criticised the White House for its plans to send "billions of dollars" in military aid to the Eastern European nation and departed from the Republican party's historical endorsement for Israel by labeling its conflict in the Gaza Strip a "mass killing".

In another discussion, the lawmaker addressed her discontent with leadership of her own party, such as the Speaker of the House, the Speaker, during the government shutdown that concluded recently.

During the shutdown, she sided with Democrats in their effort to provide healthcare subsidies, a rare move for a conservative lawmaker.
